Cargo Management

It’s very difficult to stay on top of your suppliers that are located thousands of miles away in foreign countries. Many companies manage their suppliers through e-mail, hoping suppliers respond over night, and expensive international phone calls. Even companies with overseas liason or buying offices prefer to have their staff focused on sourcing, production, product development, and quality control rather than expediting orders and arranging shipments. Worldwide Logistics Ltd. is a valuable addition to many companies' import logistics program.

Through our Cargo Management and Consolidation Service, Worldwide Logistics becomes an extension of the importer off shore. We take on the responsibility of assuring that product is delivered on the specified ship date and when it’s not we work the supplier and the importer to resolve the delays and expedite the product to final delivery. This is all managed through our web-based logistics system which allows the importer and Worldwide Logistics to establish specific supplier objectives and manage compliance.

The following is an example of a process that Worldwide Logistics would manage for an importer:

Worldwide Logistics would receive a copy of a purchase order (p.o.). This can be sent electronically, e-mailed or faxed. Worldwide Logistics makes that p.o. visible via our web-based system.

1. Worldwide Logistics contacts the supplier and confirms the delivery schedule against the specified ship date. Updates are provided via the web.

2. Worldwide Logistics monitors timely dispatch of documents to the consignee/bank.

3. FCR is issued to supplier upon receipt of cargo.

4. Worldwide Logistics acts as the agent on behalf of the consignee to carry out and specific or unique instructions.

5. Coordinates multiple supplier delivery.

6. Coordinates freight pickup at supplier, if required.

7. Manages shipment booking with the carriers. Both full container and less than container consolidation. Information provided via the web.

8. Coordinates origin re-labeling and repacking of items as needed.
