Collaboration Information flow and accuracy have long been the goals of EDI but have been equally elusive over the past 20 years. Online collaboration meets both requirements. Rather than expensive and static solutions, Worldwide Logistics uses Internet Delivered Collaboration to bring key vendors into the Worldwide Logistics network. Worldwide Logistics vendors log onto Trade Tech with specifically designed logins and passwords. Trade Tech displays only shipments assigned to that vendor that are not yet completed. The vendor is given operations instructions and asked to directly key confirmation data into the Trade Tech System. Up to the minute activities are captured, and data is validated and consistent. Exception controls help both parties manage the service to the end customer. But, above all, collaboration allows Worldwide Logistics and their vendors to focus on the task completion and not on the administration of information flow. The time we save in re-keying data can be put directly into monitoring vendor work completion.
